Every so often, there comes an opportunity to be one of the first people to discover an artist that is so wonderful, so special that you relish in their music.
Hazlett was that artist for me
I became one of the lucky few who listened to Hazlett since he released “Cool It Child” back in 2018, and had the absolute pleasure of going through a terrible break-up with “Please Don’t Be” as my anthem.
Hazlett became an artist that I consistently rooted for and recommended to friends, but one that I selfishly wanted to keep to myself as a little secret.
Luckily, Hazlett did not stay as my little secret and I had the chance to catch him at his first show in Vancouver (ever!).
It was a night I’ll never forget. It was full of people bonding over his dreamy voice, his vulnerable chats between songs, and his incredible lyrics.
